  Memorial Hell

  today has been one of the most aganizing days since i woke up.

  my family has been pressuring me to show up at the memorial for the past week.

  it became very intense today with my dad texting me constantly to get me to confirm and when i didn't answer he would call my wife and then she would constantly nag me to answer my dad and so on and so forth.

  The end of the memorial talk is always a huge guilt trip. I can't understand how anyone who has little prior knowledge about JWs could listen to that cultic drivel and actually be interested.... Buddy seriously went on for 5 solid minutes about what it means to "exercise faith". An intentional mis-translation, of course.

  You know what though man... I kind of understand your wife's being upset about tonight. Skipping the wine and cookie toss is unimaginable to them... Even though they can't explain why they are even there. She would have had to do sort of a walk of shame tonight, with people asking about you and all. I know, I did exactly that. I went, my wife went to work! How backward is that?! It was embarrassing for me, even though she's a believer.

  Update us on how it goes tonight after she gets home.

  Wow man... What the hell! Dubs see skipping the reject haysoos party as a slap in gods face. If you were trying to stay under the radar, That's out the window. O well. Good for you for sticking to your guns!

  I know it probably won't do any good, but... You haven't left the truth. In fact, you LOVE the truth, and will accept nothing less. Your wife thinks you promised to never leave The Truth. How is your missus doing? Like.. Actually, how is she doing.

  I love it! Remember when the judgement was first handed down. There was that press release on their website that said they "respectfully disagree" with the ruling and that they would be appealing. I love how they strut around all ballsy thinking Jehoober will turn the courts for them! Think again. Even after all of that, they STILL thought the case was against Kendrick, and they were bring dragged into it. How arrogant.

  They got what they deserved, and I hope this gets all the media coverage that it deserves. The majority of JWs won't hear about it and most won't believe it. It will still wake up some sleeping JWs. We also have all of the links to show our JW friends proof,might from the court website. Awesome. May there be hundreds more like Candace.

  I'll be going to the Khall. Alone... Probably smelling of this tasty bottle of Quails Gate Gewürztraminer I have beside me... Lol.

  Wifey (jw) just left for a night shift, couldn't get the night off. Our friends were telling her to call in sick or threaten to quit! Wifey thinks that is foolish. I really did hope she would be able to come, we don't need more het from the elduhs at the moment. Oh well. It would be different if I were to skip it... They would be knocking down my door right away!

  Still impressed that she chose work over memorial... She's feeling guilty. I tried to make her feel better by telling her that for a few years after 1935 when the 2 class thing started, the "other sheep" didn't even attend... I got as far as telling her its all wrong scripturally before she cut me off. We'll see which of these seeds sprouts!

  I've already got her wheels turning by making her think about why there's no flood-borne sediment layer between the top soil and the 100 million year old ancient sea floor we live on. Even brought her home some fossils to prove it! One seed at a time....... But I digress..

  speaker said we should not partake because when jesus arrives he will take the remnat to heaven and the memorial will be no more.

  just as we will not partake then (because the memorial will not exist) it is only logical that we will not partake now.

  leaving the org was not a doctrinal choice for me as it was for many on this board.

  i left mentally because of the boredom and then i physically left by being dfd.

  i have been reading here for about a month or so and now i know i made the right decision.

  Huh?? Methinks the elduh will get a talking to by the body at some point... They wouldn't want to be spreading man's doctrines now would they!

  AFAIK the Bible Students still partook even after their false prophecy personal expectations of being zapped up to heaven in 1914 proved wrong.

  Aunt Connie: Don't ever change! If you are what you say you are, then it is very telling that the only ones you can be yourself with is apostates! You're rude, opinionated and outspoken... And we love you for it!

  Rub: I think most of us have regular daydreams about some of our friends doing exactly what your friend has! That's so exciting! Help her along, then introduce her to us! She'll make a nice addition to the JWN family. Although once she reads Steve Hassan's books and JWfacts, she'll be good and ready to join the forum.

  right, so that was hours ago, so i'm waiting for the replyi'll keep you posted.. the elders have been trying to invite me for the memorial, and the email in question basically said.... .

  i d like to remind you about the memorial.

  it will be held tomorrow, tuesday the 26th at 8:45 pm in our kingdom hall.hope to see you with us remembering the most important day of this year.i replied...hi brother elder,.
